To Buittle Church & back

Turn right out of the village along the A711 to the junction with the Garden Burn road. Turn left. 
A steep climb with woods on either side is followed by a picturesque walk along a quiet country road.  First right takes you up to the former Buittle Churches, where Lady Devorgilla and John Balliol worshipped. Return by the same route or carry on to the main road and turn left. After 200 yards turn left and left again to return to the village down the Garden Burn Road.
